  Crooked Teeth

  well 55 yo this summer times flies.. was in my late thirties when i started thinking about getting braces or some other treatment for my crowded teeth.

  decided to put it off a few years later as 'the new system' ™ was right around the corner.

  then went through a huge burn out depression and my teeth became a lesser priority.

Decided to put it off a few years later as 'The New System' ™ was right around the corner. Then went through a huge burn out depression and my teeth became a lesser priority. Although I brush often, take good care of my health and do lots of sporting activities I think it's high time I address this issue if I don't want to be a Eunuch the rest of my life. Anybody else go through this and what would you do ? Attempt repair - braces etc. or just go with a nice set of dentures ? I hear they change the shape of your face and that you have no where near the biting pressure of natural teeth. Oh, by the way thanks for this WT. What a great help you've been..

  for almost 12 years now, i have been coming to this site on a regular basis and in the last 5, i “faded out”.

  i never regretted this and never will.

  unfortunately though, yesterday, i realized that, until i can publically tell all my old acquaintances why i have left, i will never be truly free.

  Stephane, maybe you could whip up a few vids with the Quebec French Canadian JW culture / slant ? You know the sort of crazy Catholics on steroids way they tend to be ? There's isn't much apostate material out there for us Ex JW Québecois.. Just saying that would be so cool if ever you decide to go that route.

  Anyhow ice to have you back, mon frère ! HeHe ( the French Canadian Congs. make a big deal out of calling everyone Frère and Soeure so and so etc. Too funny !! )

  I find the NARCISSIST factor is by far the most pressing issue here with the JW thing a distant second.. As mentioned JW Facts lays it bare for all to see so yes.

  Sunnybear please look into Narcissism, this guy checks each and EVERY single box, 100% USER . Sex is great but also gets old real quick with someone you're not in love with. He's using you for his own pleasure and what he does love about you is your booty not you as a person. Remember he and his beloved organisation are on the take. Take, TAke, TAKe and TAKE !

  Some co dependancy going on here. That and the guy is a full blown user and narcissist as previously stated it comes from being in the cult. A quick read of Stephen Hassan's 'Combating Cult Mind Control' is in order Sunnybear.

  Back in the late nineties I had an df'ed jw friend that was my mountain biking / training partner for a summer or two. Very similar in character to your BF : While he was DF'ed he slept around, did all the 'worldly things', used his new found expendable worldly friends for free labour, rides and meals and then quickly cut ties with us once he re-married and was re-instated. Went back for the status and money, inheretance you know, game plan all along.

  Although you dated lots Sunnybear sounds like you can do better even if you feel you're getting older and the clock is ticking. It's all up to you really but sometimes better being alone than poorly matched. Anyhow good luck with it all and take care, hope it works out for the better for you. Is kind of a sad situation really, the way narcissists leave hurt and upheaval in their wake... I've seen it up close myself and learnt quite a bit to say the least.

  i’m 71 years old now.

  seven decades plus.

  but, i put that in perspective owing to the fact that my older brother died in 1992 at the age of only 51. it was a very sobering time for me even though i was only 45 at the time.

  Slang or Terms Only Used by Bethelities

  there are many terms used at bethel that might sound foreign to normal people.

  there are many words or terms used at bethel that are unique only to their organization.

  here are just a few of them.. “a jack” this is someone who is a slacker or just lazy.. “a pot licker” this term has been used for many years but its connotation is unclear.

  a question after my first JW meeting

  i attended my first jw meeting recently.

  first, i would like to say what i agree with about the jehovah's witnesses beliefs and practices.. 1. they don't consider israeli's as "god's chosen people" and they don't worship israel as some holy land filled with righteous jews (although there are some there) as most so-called "christians" (christian zionists) erroneously believe they are instead of the "hypocrites" and "vipers" that it is actually filled with.. 2. they don't celebrate "holidays" like easter and christmas which are, in fact, remnants of earlier pagan practices.. 3. they don't put nation before god and christ.

  they don't believe in war or going to war because of some crazy government/cia secret agenda.

  Bleak, this was me in 1999 : Single, lonely, fresh out of an unsatisfactory relationship, both parents dead no family, going through a career burnout of sorts with loss of self confidence and no support structure, co-dependent, idealistic, a little naive and gullible, uneducated and wanting to be part of a community that accepts me as I am.

  Go ahead and 'study' if you want to learn the Bible real quick, but don't get baptised ever and please do your due diligence on the 'society' - watchtower corp. $$$

  The LOVE Bombing stopped the day I was and saw their true nature which I knew - felt was always there to being with ( gut feeling ) but ignored because " I want to believe ! " By then I had over two years 'invested', the sunk cost fallacy and all that. Plus I was horny and looking for a 'Christian wife'.. what a disaster that would of been ! Came close a few times too.

  I still believe in the Bible, am Christian but at my own pace out of any organisation. Some months I study daily, others not at all. So much out there other that what the wt people want you to believe.

  Look up Werner Bible commentary, some good research there.

  DD : Do your own due diligence.
